![]() ![]() ![]() This book is important because it lets little brown girls out there know that they have a voice and there is someone writing their stories. It brings back fond memories of being the only person in my family to leave the "hood" and try something new and different and not knowing how that would look or feel. Juliet's story is important because it lets me know that there are other people like me out there. I was that way when I first came out and I felt utterly clueless. It was so nice to read an affirming book about queer, POC, nerds who had no idea what it meant to be a lesbian or feminist. I am older than the character in the book, but when I was 19 I wish there had been more books like this one. This book was magical and mystical and all things fucking amazing. ![]()
